Lucien lived with shrapnel in his leg the rest of his life, since he refused to let the doctors amputate his leg. In order to enlist in the Navy, Lucien got Vincent Shaw and Delia Dube, who is his real aunt, to adopt him and sign the enlistment papers. His real father was a Plourde.
