      [Note indicates that Joseph fut courrier militaire de Québec à Halifax pendant la guerre d'Indépendance américaine. Il fut tué à l'embouchure de la rivière Siégas, sur la rivière St-Jean au N-Brunswick, en 1783. Il est l'ancêtre des Dufour du N.-Brunswick et de la N.-Angleterre. (Joseph was a military courier between Québec and Halifax during the American Revolutionary War. He was killed at the mouth of the Siégas River on the St. John River in New Brunswick. He is the ancestor of all Dufour in New Brunswick and New England.)].
