Joseph was married to Seraphine Martin on 28 Nov 1834. His step-brother, Romain Michaud was the one married to Flavie. He married his second wife, Alice, the daughter of Michael White and Mary Catherine Kavanaugh, on 6 Mar 1848 at Ste Luce, with whom he had 7 children.
